Salvation Army Carolinas Watching and Ready to Respond as ISAIAS Tracks Towards the Carolinas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 2, 2020) –As Tropical Storm Isaias brushes the Florida coast and continues up the southeast US coast, all 49 units of The Salvation Army of North and South Carolina are on standby, ready to respond. Additional watches and warnings will likely be issued later today by the National Hurricane Center as Isaias is expected to move northward along the southeast and mid-Atlantic coasts. ”Our trained officers and disaster services staff continue monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias and stand ready to meet the needs of impacted communities,” said Lt, Colonel Jim Arrowood, divisional commander of The Salvation Army of the Carolinas. “We are praying for the safety of people in the path of the storm and will continue to pray as we are called in to provide care after the storm passes.”
The Salvation Army encourages all residents in potentially vulnerable areas to review their family preparedness plan, become familiar with local evacuation zones in coastal counties, and stay alert to the guidance of local emergency management officials.
